for line owners

Your internet connection works for you, even when you don't use it.

Measure this connection to see how the network would class it, then move the sliders to see what its idle upload could be worth.

headroom scanruns in this tab

Sends a few small test transfers between this browser and this site to time them: round trip, download, upload. Nothing is stored, and nothing about your line leaves the tab except those test bytes.

This times the path to this site, not your ISP's maximum, so a distant server or Wi-Fi in a corner will read low. If the class looks wrong, set it with the slider in the estimate.

headroom estimateclass B, $0.00800 / GB

Class B: 100 to 499 Mbps up. Upload, not download: that is the side that gets lent.

81.0 GB

An estimate from the launch rate card, paid in $ROOM, with 90% of each payment going to the lines that carried the bytes. Not a promise: what you earn depends on how much the network has to deliver. Check your ISP's terms and data cap first.

The house rules.

  1. 1

    You always win the tie

Start a call, a game or an upload of your own and the network backs off within a second. The rest of the transfer resumes on another peer.

  2. 2

    Your hours, your limits

Set the hours the line may work, a ceiling on your upload and a monthly data cap in GB. Outside of them it sleeps, and at the cap it stops.

  3. 3

    Public files only

Your line serves public, content-addressed files and nothing else. It is not a proxy or a VPN exit: nobody browses through it, and your IP is never used to visit a site.

  4. 4

    Stake, then carry

A line posts $ROOM before it gets transfers. Send honest bytes and the stake never moves; fake a delivery and part of it is cut.
